INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

«ENDOGENOUS PROCESSES AND CAUSATION IN BRAIN AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES»

International Workshop organized on april 2-4, 2009, by the Specialization in Science and Philosophy - School of Philosophy of Pontifical Gregorian University, within STOQ Project (Science, Theology and the Ontological Quest), under the auspices of Pontifical Council for Culture.

Event, held at Domus Sanctae Marthae, Vatican City, has had presence of some of the most important reaserchers, in philosophical and scientific fields, involved in neurosciences and cognitive sciences reaserches: M. Arbib, J.-P. Changeux, C. Crowell, A. Damasio, P. Jacob, M. Jeannerod, G. Parisi, M. Raichle, J. J. Sanguineti, W. Singer.

The workshop, opened by presentation of Msgr. Melchor Sánchez de Toca, and by a report of Prof. Gennaro Auletta, has been closed wby Fr. Tomasz Trafny, that has expressed final official regards of Pontifical Council for Culture, and the auspicious that dialogue between scientists and philosophers, on these issues, can follow during next months, and also involve reflections of theologians.

Workshop's conclusions and proceedings are going to be presented within a next Congress.
